Rachel Riger is originally from Westchester, NY and a graduate from Indiana University. Currently, she is the Assistant Director of Social Media and Digital Content at the University Athletic Association at the University of Florida. She previously was the Digital Strategy and Engagement Assistant at Syracuse University and a Social and Digital Media Intern at IU,

Riger is responsible for overall content strategies for all the Gators Social Media Platforms. These duties include content creation, asset management, analytics, student intern staffing.

At Indiana, Riger’s daily tasks included curating content for 24 sports on three major social platforms and managing GIF creation for the Indiana Athletics GIPHY channel. Riger has generated and aided with the execution of various national holiday campaigns. In a gameday social media capacity, Riger works with the Indiana Men’s Basketball accounts that have appeared regularly on SkullSparks’ Top 25 interaction rankings as well as football, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, volleyball, women’s basketball and softball. She assists team specific accounts with creating Instagram Stories, selecting photos for feed posts and generating long lasting caption copy. 

As a Student Associate at MSG, Riger worked in the Fan Development Department of the New York Knicks. Her main assignments included managing registration and logistics of the Knicks Summer Youth Basketball Camps. She also controlled all Junior Knicks social media platforms where she created content, generated daily updates about camp and captured camp photos. Riger raised the total audience of the Junior Knicks across all social media channels from 4,479 to 6,431 in three months.

Riger has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Media Advertising with a specialization in Sports Journalism and a minor in Event Planning.
